ABOUT US

Whilst we’re not actively looking for an assistant engineer, we do welcome you getting in touch, despite your experience.

Yellow Shark Recording Studio is based in Cheltenham and has been established for over 24 years. During this time, it has built an enviable reputation for producing the highest level of recording and production in both music and spoken word, locally in the South-West and Midlands, throughout the UK and Worldwide.

Recording stunningly crafted audio is our speciality, spanning all areas of music as well as voice recordings for ADR, audio books, television, film, animation, radio, podcasts, multimedia, corporate video, dialogue and dubbing. Our clients include John Lydon/PiL, Elderbrook, Razorlight, Wynton Marsalis, EMI, Sony, Disney, Warner Brothers, Marvel, BBC, ITV, and Channel 4 amongst many others.

About the role

Everything from cleaning the studio to cleaning up sessions, making coffees to making records. First roles will include editing, tuning and organising sessions for mix.

Our clients are highly varied. Our voice sessions can be with performing artists, actors, presenters, film, TV and post-production companies working on sessions as varied as next month’s global blockbuster to a corporate promotional video. You’ll need to be comfortable working with all of these, and able to build rapport with a wide range of people.

If successful, there will be an opportunity for you to join our team of freelance engineers.

ABOUT YOU

You will ideally have some experience with Pro Tools, but competency with another DAW is acceptable. You will be a team player with first class communication skills, and a calm, logical manner, with an enthusiasm for learning and a passion for sound. As studio hours can be varied, flexibility is essential.
